If God exists, prove it then?
If God exists, what does it have to do with me?
If all this is true, now what?
This is an evangelistic workbook suitable for one-to-ones or in a group setting.
The new 9Marks Urban Series – FIRST STEPS, is designed to help people think through the big questions in life in an accessible and practical way. God: Is He Out There? is the first in our new 10 book series that will challenge young Christians, those who have been on the road for many years and those seeking to find out more about the Christian faith.
FROM THE INTRODUCTION: Life is full of questions. Now some questions are really not all that important, like what should I wear today or are we going out tonight. Then there are the big questions, the kind of questions that might keep you up at night. Will she ever forgive me? How am I going to get money to pay o that debt? How am I going to get out of this mess?
What about the really big questions, the questions that define us, questions that help us make sense of the world we are living in? Is there really a God? If there is a God why is life so difficult? What is the point of my life? What happens when I die?
This series of short workbooks are designed to help you think through some of life’s big questions. It all starts with the most important question of all: God—Is He Out There? The questions that follow all hinge on our answer to that question. If we answer that there is a God then how can we get to know him and how should we now live?
In this book we will meet Jack. Jack is an ordinary man in many ways. He will probably remind you of someone you already know. Perhaps he will remind you of yourself. Jack has come to the point in his life when he has started asking some really serious questions and he is desperate for answers.
Throughout this series of books we will be walking with Jack as he discovers those answers. More than likely, the questions that Jack is asking are some of the same questions you have been wondering about. So throughout this workbook, and the ones that follow, seek to discover some big answers to these big questions.
… brilliantly simple and accessible to anyone searching for answers about God and truth, and yet biblically sound and clear about what it truly means to know Christ and walk with him. Mez has a sensitive pastor’s heart and a burden for the urban poor that oozes with every page. This book is a clear and needed contribution from one of the most careful and wise thinkers on caring for the poor in our generation.
