Jim Turrent is the pastor of Central Baptist Church in Dundee. We are currently in discussions about forming a partnership in providing full time gospel workers for the revitalisation of a vacant church building in Lochee, a needy part of the city.
Lochee is an area in the West of Dundee, Scotland. Until the 19th century, it was a separate town, but was eventually surrounded by the expanding Dundee. It is notable for being home to Camperdown Works, which was the largest jute production site in the world.
Whilst it is not a scheme in the traditional sense it is an area in desperate need of a revitalised gospel ministry. If this is something that interests you then please contact us through the website.
There are also opportunities for at least one other scheme in the city. So watch this space!
Building healthy gospel centered churches for Scotland’s poorest communities
Our long term desire is to see Scotland’s housing schemes transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ through the planting of gospel-preaching churches, ultimately led by a future generation of indigenous church leaders.
